Eric Young is no longer with TNA Wrestling.
TNA announced today that they have “come to terms on the release of Eric Young,” effective immediately. TNA’s statement nodded to Young’s lengthy history with the promotion and wished him well in his future endeavors.
The move comes just days after Sunday’s Slammiversary 2026 at Boston’s Agganis Arena, where Young preformed on the Slammiversary pre-show and lost to Ricky Sosa in singles action. Young has a notable TNA résumé, first distinguishing himself as part of Team Canada in the company’s early years before becoming one of its signature homegrown stars. During his run with the company, Young became a two-time TNA World Champion and only the fourth Grand Slam Champion in TNA’s history.
The timing is especially notable because Young’s release follows a string of high-profile TNA departures, including Tessa Blanchard, Tommy Dreamer, and Sami Callihan. Mike Santana has also reportedly finished up with TNA following Slammiversary, where he lost the TNA World Championship to Nic Nemeth in the main event.
Neither party has cited a reason for the departure or said whether it is connected to the broader changes affecting TNA in recent weeks. For a performer so closely tied to the company’s history, the move is more than another transaction. It is another significant exit during a visible period of change.
