REVIEW: Teen Titans #1: The Titans See Red
Every other Robin has had their time in the sun to lead or guide a team, while Jason has remained stuck playing the angry black sheep. Going into this book, I wanted to see him actually evolve. Stepping into the role of a seasoned mentor figure to a brand-new generation is the exact breath of fresh air his character has needed.

REVIEW: The Doom Patrol #1 - Crazier Than a Bag of Cats
The original three members of the Doom Patrol—Cliff Steele (Robotman), Larry Trainor (Negative Man), and Rita Farr (Elasti-Woman)—have seen better days. They used to be heroes. Now, they find missing cats for reward money. Sometimes they find roadkill that used to be the cat, and they swap it out for a live kitty so they can still collect the reward. Times are tough, for sure.

REVIEW: Hammerfist #1 is the Grindhouse Film You Didn’t Know you Needed!
Rick Remender has another hit on his hands with Hammerfist #1 and Steve Epting’s art and Matt Hollingsworth’s colors take this issue from great to incredible. This is a story, in my opinion, that shouldn’t be one that you know details of.

REVIEW: Absolute Wonder Woman #23 Brings the Fight Right to the Big Baddie’s Doorstep
There’s a reason Absolute Wonder Woman managed to quickly become the book I look forward to most almost every week, with each issue reinforcing that faith in new and wonderful (pun intended) ways. Issue #23 continues that excellent trajectory by expanding this universe’s Greek lore, with a few very familiar godly faces showing up to complicate matters, while Diana herself decides to play offense against perpetual pain-in-the-butt Veronica Cale.

One thing is for sure: Julio Anta does not tell stories simply to fill page counts. In an industry often satisfied with surface-level spectacle, Anta approaches comics with the heart of an activist, dedicated to illuminating the real-world resilience of communities that fall through the cracks of the American experiment. With No Gods, No Masters #1, he and artist Jacoby Salcedo take that mission into high-octane genre territory.
