X-Men '97 Season 2 in Post-Production, New Head Writer for Season 3
X-Men '97 Season 2 is currently in post-production, and Marvel Studios is gearing up for Season 3 with a new head writer. Beau DeMayo, who created the show, will not be returning for Season 2 after his sudden departure, leaving fans with unanswered questions.
According to Brad Winderbaum, in an interview with Entertainment Weekly, the team will have a new head writer for Season 3, but they will still honor DeMayo's ideas for Season 2. Winderbaum praised Jacob Castorena, the show's director, as an "amazing architect" and credited him and the directing team, including Yonemura and Conley, for the show's visual storytelling.
Despite the change in leadership, Winderbaum emphasized that the team's mantra remains the same: to honor the comics and the original show. As long as they stay true to the source material, the creative pursuit will remain consistent.
Fans can look forward to Season 2's release and the new direction that Season 3 will take under the new head writer.
