"The Maze Runner" is gearing up for a reboot!

Hollywood Reporter exclusively reveals that 20th Century Studios is dusting off the sci-fi action adventure franchise, which captivated audiences from 2014 to 2018 as a trilogy.

Negotiations are underway for Jack Paglen, renowned for his work on the Johnny Depp-starring sci-fi thriller "Transcendence," to take the reins in crafting the script for this fresh installment.

Sources confirm that the reboot is not a mere retread of the original tale, nor a direct sequel to the trilogy headlined by Dylan O'Brien and Kaya Scodelario. Instead, the aim is to craft a seamless continuation of the saga while harkening back to the elements that endeared the franchise to its fervent fanbase.

Fans of the original trilogy will be thrilled to learn that key players from the production team are back in action. Ellen Goldsmith-Vein and Lee Stollman of Gotham Group, alongside Wyck Godfrey and Marty Bowen of Temple Hill, who helmed the production of the initial trilogy, are on board to produce the reboot.
