The REAL Green Arrow is finally revealed! But can they get the job done and put Hammond away for good?
*Absolute Green Arrow #6 SPOILERS ahead!*
WHO IS THE REAL GREEN ARROW?
Green Arrow has Dinah right in his sights.
But she knows exactly who he is. Malcolm let it known that someone is immune to the poison that's being shot into everybody. And there's only one person who could come to mind. A person who was very close to Oliver Queen.
Connor Queen.
Seeing Connor's journey from being trained by Oliver to his reasoning for all the actions that he's taken, all the previous puzzle pieces are falling into place.
Especially with Connor being "dead" from being shot with poison. He explains that this was possible because of his training, utilizing the poison in microdoses. So when he was shot by the arrow, it put him in a temporary coma, but didn't kill him.
Dinah receives good news from Connor, though: her father is alive and is being kept safe. But before she can speak any further, Grundy returns for more action. Dinah takes a tank and shoves it into the open wound on his back, leaving him vulnerable like a video game boss. After she shoots an arrow towards it, boom, Grundy is presumably gone, but no one knows for sure.
Connor goes over to Malcolm, who lies lifeless on the ground. He grabs a thumb drive from his belt. This is the thumb drive that'll take down everything that Hammond has built. He hands this to Dinah while crying over Malcolm's body.
Dinah is confronted by more soldiers, but she screams at the top of her lungs, leveling the entire building and the surrounding area.
What's next for Hammond? First, a well-placed threat from Dinah while waiting in his home followed by Hammond hanging from a rope in his home.
What's next for Dinah? She needs to face whatever past her mother had and tackle it head-on.
Green Arrow? He is prepping to use his talents for good and fight for justice, now wanting to target the mayor of Star City.
CONCLUSION:
And that's a wrap on this first arc of Absolute Green Arrow! This entire run has been a fun Rollercoaster ride of guessing and not knowing what was gonna happen next. The book ends in a way that sets up this portion of the absolute universe very well. I’m very happy this story received an extension and is continuing on. There are still some stones left unturned, and seeing a potential HERO, Green Arrow, in this universe can be very interesting as he tries to clear his name of being tied to only murder.
Absolute Green Arrow is definitely a strong recommendation for peers when the TPB releases. Check this out whenever you can; this first book is a work in itself.
