What do you get when you cross a vampire, a colonist, an invisible man, a shape-shifting monster and a pirate? Why you get the League of Extraordinary Gentlemen! The comic written co-created in the late 90's by the prolific Alan Moore centered around some of literature's greatest figures as they band together to stop one of histories greatest villains in a plot to take over the world. The 2003 adaptation, which has the strange distinction of being Sean Connery's last film, has some of those moments, and add a bunch of new ones, but does it hold up to the original? Check out this episode to find out!

Can you remember the first time you had a drink? How it made you feel? What it made you do? Some look back fondly at how alcohol fueled their younger years but The Alcoholic by Jonathan Ames is no such story. Follow narrator Jonathan A. (no relation) as he takes you through a a collection of memories that has led him to the self-loathing, binge-drinking present where the series starts. This story is not for the weak at heart and deals with sexuality, trauma, death, drugs and more in this true-to-life tale of what happens when you don't tend to old wounds. For anyone seeking help for their own alcohol addiction please call : 1-800-662-HELP (4357) or visit https://www.samhsa.gov/.

There has never been another person more synonymous with The Joker than Harley Quinn. Seduced while trying to “save” the clown prince of crime, the former doctor’s decent into madness is one of comic’s most tragic tales, but is not the end of the Harley Quinn Story. Join us as we trace back through the life that is Harley’s, from her start in animation, to her evolution in video games, comics, and other media. We also review the DC Black Label series Harleen and stack her latest origin story against her Mad Love beginnings (Batman The Animated Series) and her New 52 Origin. All of this in preparation of our Birds of Prey review next week!

The war between Batman and The Joker has always had Gotham trapped in its wake, with the GCPD usually standing by helpless. Written and Drawn by Sean Murphy and released under the DC Black Label imprint, Batman White Knight turns everything we know about Batman and Joker’s relationship on its head in a story that by asking us,  is Batman really what’s best for Gotham or Can the Joker ever really be redeemed?  Most stories involve Joker trying his best to break The Bat, and The Dark Knight doing his best not to execute the crazed clown killer, but this one takes a more modern approach.  Join us in a story complete with twists and turns, that provide a sharp social commentary on vigilantism but also an in-depth look at a semi-sane Joker aka Jack Napier.
