With Ronnie trapped and Lorraine (Firehawk) finally hearing the truth about how Firestorm was created. What other lies will be brought to light by Professor Stein?

*Fury of Firestorm #4 SPOILERS ahead!*

A HOUSE OF LIES

The story of Firestorm and Firehawk is one of fate. She details how they were complete opposites, but through being completely different from each other, their lives as these powerful super beings brought them together.

No matter what's going on in the world, they always find each other, and she is always there to help him the same way he does for her. And especially now, as Ronnie has lost his way and is trapped inside the Firestorm entity.

Which is why Firehawk is questioning Professor Stein in person. Or more so interrogating him. She lays down the questions very hard on him. Trying to get to the bottom of WHY he forced this life upon Ronnie.

He promises that he did this knowing that there would be a way to stop it. There would be a failsafe to stop what's currently happening from happening.

"I was the failsafe!"

Hearing him make excuses and admit to all these lies he's told, she learns that there are countless heroes that were born from this initial idea. Including Firehawk, which infuriates her.

Seeing her life flash before her eyes. Her life as a hero, her life with Ronnie. She sees it all as a planned-out decision. Not a natural love. And that breaks her heart. Everything she has known is a lie.

Before almost killing Stein out of anger, he tells her that he does have a plan to stop Ronnie. And she needs to keep him alive to see it come to fruition.

It's a machine that can contain the Firestorm Matrix and absorb it. All they need to do is get it close to Firestorm, and this could be their way to help free Ronnie from this internal cell he's locked in.

With that, they load up the device and head to Pittsburgh, where a giant mass has landed in the middle of the city. And inside here is Firestorm.

CONCLUSION

With the book ramping up every issue, this could be considered a breather issue for sure. Which isn't a bad thing! After the big revelation of Stein lying to Ronnie and forcing him to be Firestorm under the guise of being there "accidentally". Those lies continue to stack, now discovering that Firehawk was lied to as well. I call this a breather issue because it doesn't directly build on what happened last issue, but instead is another chance to build what's to come in Pittsburgh. But even a “breather” issue for this run can be classified as a pivotal issue for this series.

I'm really interested in how Ronnie will take control back and what the relationship will be between him and Stein when they meet up again.
