The closing moments of tonight’s Survivor Series: WarGames main event descended into chaos when a masked individual infiltrated the cage, costing CM Punk and his team the victory.
While the assailant’s identity was concealed under a hood and face covering during the broadcast, a new report from Fightful’s Sean Ross Sapp indicates that the mystery man is none other than former United States Champion Austin Theory.
The interference occurred during the climax of a brutal WarGames match that saw Team Punk (CM Punk, Cody Rhodes, Roman Reigns, and The Usos) battling "The Vision" (Bron Breakker, Bronson Reed, Logan Paul, Drew McIntyre, and Brock Lesnar). As Punk prepared to deliver a decisive blow to Bron Breakker, the masked intruder scaled the cage structure, slipping through the mesh to deliver a vicious attack on the "Best in the World." The assault left Punk incapacitated, allowing Breakker to secure the pinfall victory for his team.
According to Sapp, WWE sources have confirmed that the man under the mask was indeed Austin Theory. Theory has been absent from WWE television since July 2025 following the dissolution of his tag team with Grayson Waller.
For those following backstage rumblings, Theory’s involvement in this specific match may not come as a total surprise, though the method of his arrival was unexpected. Prior to the shoulder injury that forced Seth Rollins to vacate the World Heavyweight Championship earlier this fall, rumors were heavily circulating regarding Theory’s status. At the time, creative plans reportedly positioned Theory to join Rollins' faction, "The Vision," as a key member.
