All Elite Wrestling has reportedly extended the contract of popular wrestler Danhausen, a move that was reportedly made against his wishes. According to a report from Fightful Select, the decision was made due to time he missed from a significant pectoral muscle injury, pushing his deal from its original July 2025 expiration well into 2026.
The extension is tied to a clause in his contract related to time missed due to injury. Danhausen suffered a torn pectoral muscle in March 2023 at the Revolution pay-per-view, which sidelined him for over eight months. The Fightful report notes that it was believed Danhausen had asked the company to not pick up his option and was prepared to leave, reportedly due to a lack of consistent creative plans for his character since his return.
Known for his unique, "very nice, very evil" persona, Danhausen became a viral sensation on the independent circuit before signing with AEW in January 2022. Despite his considerable fan popularity and merchandise sales, he has had infrequent television appearances, with his last AEW match being at the Worlds End pay-per-view in December 2023. This contract extension will keep the fan-favorite under an AEW deal for the foreseeable future.
