We're halfway through the Quintesson War! After Solila returned to help Darak, what's waiting for them as they continue surviving this war?
*Void Rivals #27 SPOILERS ahead!*
TIME TO FIGHT BACK
Solila and Darak are reunited and they waste no time as Solila teleports them away from the events occurring around them. The situation is a complete warzone on both Agorria and Zertonia. Sharkticons are running rampant on the population, leaving nothing but smoke and destruction behind.
A recording is shown that Pythona watches. The Quintessons are discussing the plans for complete dominance in a very smug manner. They claim that the people are doomed no matter what and that the Quintessons will have complete control of this location soon enough.
Pythona decides to fight back against this tyranny.
Charging through the ship, Pythona meets one of the mechs that has been working under her. She lunges towards it, cutting away the alien tentacles, and proceeds to flee. This leaves the Quintessons unsure of what the ruckus was all about, but they seem almost nervous.
Down on Agorria, Darak and Solila arrive at the safe haven of the father of Darak. He is beyond pleased to see that the son is actually alive and with Solila. Even Darak is shocked to see the father is happy to see him. Due to the circumstances of an all-out war where lives are being lost rapidly, the reaction makes sense.
The fight is not completely lost as Agorrian soldiers begin to fight back. They cut through the Sharkticons with ease and obliterate any that come in the way. While the father of Darak is attempting to reach Zolilak, who is busy on Zertonia fighting against Sharkticons as well, the connection cannot be reached. That is where Solila comes in and says that she will deliver the message to Zolilak herself.
On the side of the conflict for Zertonia, Zolilak is trying his hardest to take down Sharkticons alongside the adversary Proximus. Solila shoots into the location and arrives, telling Zolilak that he needs to use the Energon. Energon is the key to victory in this battle.
The Quintessons are now scrambling, worried that they may lose this fight. They call out to hold nothing back against the foes in this battle. But even those are struck down by Zolilak, who is now using the Energon power to the fullest. They continue to mow down anything being thrown at them.
That's when Zolilak begins to remember every memory he may have lost...including the memory of Solila being his sister.
CONCLUSION
ACTION, ACTION, ACTION!
So many explosions and battle sequences cover the interiors of this issue. The war is ramping up and the heroes are actually looking to be in a good spot right now. The Quintessons actually seemed worried in this issue as they noticed they may have chosen the wrong people to target.
As for the cliffhanger, I am very excited to see where it leads. I love a good family drama added into stories like this. At the end of the day, this was absolutely an action packed book. I usually read issues twice when reviewing them, and this was even more enjoyable on the second read-through. When you pair the art by Andrei Bressan with the dialogue of Robert Kirkman, it makes for quick and snappy pages to read through. Once you finish this book, it will leave you wanting more. It was a huge increase in entertainment from last month.
