iRacing And INDYCAR Announce First Video Game In Over 20 Years

iRacing and IndyCar are looking to deliver one of the best video games for motorsports fans for the first time in over 20 years. The announcement came on the INDYCAR social media page on Twitter/X when put out a statement saying the highly anticipated game would be getting its release on July 2027, just in time for the Indianapolis 500.

The last INDYCAR video game was developed by Brains In A Jar and published by Codemasters. It was based on the 2003 INDYCAR season with the game receiving praise for its realism and presentation of each track and race.

Now, with the recent resurgence of INDYCAR and the recently published NASCAR 25 video game, this new INDYCAR video game could be in the conversation for league races and couch playing with all your friends in the next year just like F1 and NASCAR is.

This new INDYCAR video game will be developed by iRacing and is set to release on PlayStation 5, XBOX consoles, and PC via Steam.

Many drivers are excited about the first INDYCAR game in two decades, drivers like Scott McLaughlin, Pato O’Ward, and even the Chip Ganassi Racing team are raving about how much they’re anticipating the return of INDYCAR to consoles.

No cover athlete has been named, but it should be exciting to see who walks out of this season with the championship and the possibility of being on the cover of the first INDYCAR video game in twenty years.
